Dear friends and love ones. August 2011

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Col 2:6-7

Rebecca and I arrived in Manaus on the 17th of July, our bags arrived on the evening of the 18th. We are glad to be home and are working on catching up on all the things left undone when we traveled.

 CAMPOS SALES CHURCH.

We returned to find the church doing well. The national leader we left managed well and the folks appreciated his efforts. In our absence one of our men suffered a nervous breakdown. We believe that they overdosed him on painkillers when he was in the hospital for kidney stones. He is at home and is suffering greatly. Another one of our men has a serious case of Tuberculosis at this time. There are quite a few cases in our area, and they are warning everyone to take care, It is now Malaria season also, and the government is warning people to take preventative measures. The church is in an area that seems to be the focal point for many of these diseases right now.

We have a church called MEGA right in front of our gate now. They moved in about three weeks before we returned. They are a loud bunch and use an enormous sound system pointed our way. They are only about 50 feet from our building and when they begin their services we cannot hear anything but them. We believe some one has reported their behavior because Sunday night they were quieter than normal. The church has suffered these sorts of things the last seven years, but nothing so close and so loud. We will have to change the times of our services if they continue.

 FAMILY.

Rebecca continues to heal. She is still resting in the afternoons and some times rests in the mornings also, but seems to be getting some of her strength back. She has limited herself to doing one big activity per day, and it has helped her to not get over tired. She is happy to be back with the ladies at church. She has already contacted the public school about religion classes and should be setting something up soon. Our three boys are all busy and in good health.

 BIBLE INSTITUTE.

We are beginning to set up a national team of leaders in the Bible institute. Our plan is to work with them closely from now on while they gather experience and confidence. There are many issues to work out and it will be a slow process, but we know that we will need these men in the future to carry on this work. The Lord has used the Bible institute to help the churches prepare many young men for the ministry. Pray with us that the Lord will give us men that will be faithful to the gospel and that will be willing to be faithful.

As always, we thank you for lifting us up in prayer and for your faithful financial support. These are uncertain days, but we trust God and his providence, knowing that he is able to supply our needs and supply us with everything we need. May the Lord bless your faithfulness.
